The authority for audit is derived from the Constitution of India read with CAG's DPC Act, 1971. Consequent to sectoral integration, the audit arrangement of the State Governments in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department has been restructured w.e.f. 18.04.2012.
What We Do
Conduct Expenditure Audit of :General Services &
Social Services Departments, Urban Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj
Institutions of Government of Odisha
Prepare :Audit Report of the Comptroller and Auditor
General of India on State Finances, Local Bodies and General and
Certify :Finance and Appropriation Accounts of the
Government of Odisha and expenditure of World Bank Projects,
Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Central Sector Schemes and State Plan
Assist :Public Accounts Committee of the State
Legislature in examination of State Finance Report, General and
Social Sector Report and Report on Local Bodies of the Comptroller
and Auditor General of India.
The office of the Accountant General (G&SSA) is headed by Accountant General.
In his discharge of duties, he is assisted by the Sr. Deputy Accountant General
(Administration), Deputy Accountant General (Social Sector)-I, Deputy
Accountant General (Social Sector)-II, Deputy Accountant General (Social Sector)-
III, Sr. Deputy Accountant General (General Sector), Sr. Deputy Accountant
General (FAW) and the Welfare Officer.
